What Is Oculus Quest

Oculus Quest is considered to be the world’s first all-in-one gaming system, specifically built for virtual reality. It does not require wires in order to operate, nor a PC or console. What you only have to do is set it up with the Oculus mobile app, and you’re ready to begin exploring VR from almost anywhere.

Oculus Quest comes equipped with four ultra-wide angle sensors located inside the headset, powering the Oculus Insight, which precisely tracks your environment and instantly translates your movements into VR.

It goes hand in hand with its ergonomically designed, intuitive Touch controllers that bring your hands into the game.

What’s included in the Oculus Quest Set

What you are going to get with this product are the VR headset itself, along with Touch controllers for Oculus Quest, a power adapter, an eyeglass spacer and the Oculus Insight tracking system.

What You Need to Know Before You Buy It

Let us not forget that Oculus Quest is a wireless headset, meaning that it depends solely on its battery life in order to operate. The battery life itself lasts for about 2-3 hours depending on usage. This might not give you the freedom to play as many hours as you like without stopping for a coffee break, but it offers you enough time to enjoy several gaming sessions before having to charge your headset.

If you want to compare Oculus Quest to the Oculus Rift S, the latter being a PC powered headset, you might notice some slight differences in detail and image quality in favor of the Rift. But this does not at all undermine the insane visual pleasure that Oculus Quest gives you. We had to mention it though.

One last thing you should be aware of is whether you have enough space at your house to play. Since outdoor usage of the headset is not recommended, you need to have enough space to fully enjoy all the headset’s and games’ aspects. Although truth is that you can even play seated or within a limited space area, it is a totally different experience to be able to move freely in a room.

The Positive Side

A wide variety of 100+ games to choose from.

Easy-to-set-up with just connecting your headset to the Oculus mobile app and be ready to play.

With the Oculus Insight tracking system your headset instantly reflects your movements in VR, so you feel totally present.

Comes with touch controllers which make a huge difference in the way you interact with your environment.

Since Oculus Quest works with your environment, you can play standing or sitting, wherever you are.

The Negative Side

Cannot play outdoors yet.

Battery last for about 2-3 hours before you need to charge it.

Our Verdict

Oculus Quest is definitely going to surprise you. With its quality and attention-to-detail manufacture, easy-to-play operating system and insane VR graphics, it is a state-of-the-art Virtual Reality headset that is ready to do everything you want it to do.

Yes, there are a few quality choices out there, like PSVR for example, but Oculus Quest is for sure one of the best, too. It is indeed the next generation VR experience, not only because of its design and wireless operation, but because it knows what people want. A reliable, high quality headset ready to provide you with an unforgettable experience that is going to last.

For all the above mentioned reasons, we have given this headset a score of 9.0 out of 10.
